Use Cases / Materials Guide

Product Primary Use Suitable Parts / Materials Characteristics Notes
Power-Window Rubber Lubricant Lubricates and conditions rubber channels/seals Door/window rubber, channels Reduces binding and noise; maintains elasticity Avoid glass/paint; apply thinly and wipe any excess
Dry PTFE Chain Oil Dry-film lubrication with low dust pickup Chains, open drives Resists dirt and water; low noise Clean first; multiple light coats work best
Belt Squeal & Anti-Slip Restores friction; suppresses squeal Alternator/AC belts Restores grip; reduces slippage Do not use on wet or badly damaged belts (inspect/replace instead)
Tackified Spray Grease (Stringing) High-tack lubrication Gears, pins, door hinges Sling-resistant, water-resistant, high load Avoid overspray onto brake rotors/pads
High-Temperature Spray Grease Lubrication in high-temperature conditions Engine-bay pivots/links Maintains lube and anti-wear at temp Observe temperature limits; keep away from hot exhaust surfaces
Multi-Purpose Penetrating & Rust-Removing Lubricant Penetrates to free rust; basic lube and corrosion protection Rusted screws, seized hinges Fast penetration; displaces moisture Allow time to penetrate before removal; repeat if needed

FAQ

Should I choose a dry or wet chain lube?

If you often ride in dust or rain—or want less dirt pickup—go dry (e.g., this series’ “Dry PTFE Chain Oil”). If you want maximum quiet and rust protection and don’t mind frequent upkeep, a wet lube can be considered.

If my belt squeals, is anti-slip spray enough?

Anti-slip spray can help temporarily, but if the belt is aged, tension is low, or a pulley is faulty, inspect/repair or replace to avoid masking problems and delaying maintenance.

After using a penetrating/rust-removing lube, how long before I can loosen parts? Should I reapply?

Wait a few minutes up to tens of minutes depending on rust severity. For heavy rust, reapply and use mechanical leverage (sockets, breaker bars) before attempting removal.
